Westfield’s Fourth Ward

Westfield, New Jersey, formerly known as the West Fields of Elizabeth, was settled in 1720 and was incorporated as a town in 1903. The Town Council consists of eight members, with two members elected from each of four wards.

Westfield’s Fourth Ward extends from South Avenue in the North; Lamberts Mill Road in the South and East; Rahway Avenue to Clifton Street to Summit Avenue to Boulevard in the West. Students in the Fourth Ward attend kindergarten at Lincoln School, McKinley, Tamaques and Jefferson Elementary Schools, Edison Intermediate School, and Westfield High School.

The Fourth Ward includes the Westfield Armory, the Westfield Conservation Center, Houlihan/Sid Faye Fields, the Memorial Pool Complex and Tamaques Park.
